Is it advisable to flush the cooling system
Hi I just wondered if it was advisable to give it a drain and flush on a '03 ZTT 190 which I have just acquired, I have done all the service items and just wondered about the above ?

It won't do any harm to flush the system through and refill with fresh coolant. Since you have done everything else it will give you piece of mind.

Disconnect top and bottom hoses. insert a garden hose into the radiator top inlet and direct a flow of clean water through the radiator till clean water exits from the bottom outlet. If the water does not run clear after a short while it can be flushed with radiator flush which you
should be able to get from any motor factor

Don't forget the heater matrix.

Flushing the radiator is easy as RovermanPhil has explained, but as Mike says, it's the heater matrix which can give trouble. However, low pressure plain water is unlikely to have much effect on the latter. Also, you cannot easily flush the entire cooling system when the thermostat is shut. My advice is that if your heater is working well, with equal temperatures on both sides of the cabin, then leave well alone! Simon
