Morning all.
Cold here too with a beautiful blue sky and brilliant sunshine. Have caught a rotten cold, not Covid according to the tests, but it's made me less enthusiastic to get on with stuff. Although a nice walk with Quizzie is therapeutic . Quizzie is top left with the red collar and all the other dogs are guide dog puppies or dogs withdrawn from the Guide Dogs programme |

Thank you for posting up the update a few days ago about Richard. We wish him all the best with the next step: the plate and closure. It was very kind of you to look in on him, I am sure it gave him a boost. |

Letting the dogs meet up is really an excuse for the humans to drink tea and eat cake after they've done their two legged "exercise" for the day, so obviously deserve it . The other advantage is that the dogs are, of course, absolutely shattered so it's a peaceful afternoon. Due back up in the North East soon and Quizzie's already on a playdate with Rich & family (hospital etc. permitting). I'll keep you all updated. Take care and look after those you love. |

Just picked up a couple of bird feeders in B&M to replace the big one the hairy tailed rat destroyed, a quid each! Not exactly quality but they'll do until something better turns up.

Bought a set of bathroom scales. Quite frightening to find out how much overweight I am. So the diet starts tomorrow.
Took my Xmas present of a picture Vulcan flying over the Ascension Islands, with poppies in the foreground, on its way to bomb the Falkland Islands into the framing shop here is Saltash. Already have two Poppy related framed pictures. One from East Kirkby and the other one I got from a secondhand shop in Plymouth. No news from the garage, yet.

Afternoon all, By heck it's gone cold now the sun has dipped down. Just been in the greenhouse to put fleeces over the plants in there as it's forecast for minus overnight temps. Somerset pork casserole for tea, It's been on low heat for in the oven for three hours & smells bootiful.

Picked up a flea treatment for the girls. Poppy sat and watched me giving the treatment to Suzy and Maya, turned towards her "you're not putting that on me!" and she disappeared under the recliner. I'll have to sneak up on her later
I'd been wondering how the squirrel was getting onto the feeders until I saw it the other day making several attempts to jump from a nearby plant tub and grab the pole above the anti climb dome. The dome wouldn't go any higher as the top section of pole had a slightly larger diameter but I managed to open the hole in the dome clamp up a bit, hopefully that'll avoid the squirrel ending up with a lead injection. I hear what you're saying about it being cold Ian, by the time I'd finished working on the feeder I could hardly feel my fingers. |
