Help!! Please!!! :-/
Hey guys, my ZT CDTi has developed another problem.
It has started pulsing on tickover, running on a few times and now cutting out randomly on tickover. Any ideas? I'm thinking fuel pressure regulator? Any help would be fantastic. |

you need to read the car in order to find out the area of the problem .if no reading is done it could turn out to be an expensive guessing game .but it does sound like a fuel issue to me though

I've recently had the injectors reconditioned so I'm assuming it's not them. I'll perform a leakback test anyway to rule them out.
I was thinking the running on was a sure sign the regulator was sticking. But maybe not. |

How about checking the comon rail preasure sensor plug/socket conection?? bit of corrosion or ??
I think French Mike has a "How too" for checking the fuel presure sensor thats in the fuel filter mounting?? Might be worth checking the presure reg for dirt in the fine mesh filter ?? - I belive several people have found that causing some funny symptoms? Andy |

Unplug your MAF and see if that helps.. Do you have synergy fitted?

Right...quick update.
I picked up a new reg on sale or return just incase it was that. On the way home, which is a 42 mile cross country commute, I struggled to keep it running on tickover and it seemed to struggle whenever I was cruising behind slow people. Eventually I got fed up and thrashed it passed a few people which it did very happily. Since then it hasn't been anywhere near as bad and the only symptom has been slight pulsing again on tickover which is not as bad as before. I do have synergy on board, yes and I'll try unplugging the MAF tomorrow to see if this has any effect. |
