So, I’ve been feeling unwell this evening as I have diarrhoea so went to bed at 10:15pm. I crashed out and woke up for a pee at 2:15am. Now, I’m wide awake. At least I slept a little bit....
I might try having a cup of tea quickly and then try and sleep again...

Good morning Ravinder, I am sorry to see you are having a rough time at the moment. Not sleeping properly, having diarrhoea and thoughts of death is the pits. Your medication you have been on for depression might need to be reviewed and having a chat with your doctor about the issues could help. Why not give it a go. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking ‘rehydrate’ to replace lost fluids - out here we call it ‘the trots’. Dairy and fatty products are best avoided during this phase. I hope you feel better soon.

Morning, Phil. Thanks for the advise. I had a cup of tea earlier and went back fo bed but couldn’t sleep so I’m up now watching the BBC News. Just had some light breakfast, too. I can’t see me sleeping now. Worst thing is I’m working this evening until midnight and I’m worried I may not be able to function due to tiredness. I’ll make an appointment for next week. I don’t fancy explaining things from the beginning as I don’t even know if I have a replacement, permanent GP as my GP of nearly 20 years got struck off....

Ravinder, I always feel tired after a long haul night flight, so one of first things I do is to have a breakfast, then a ‘Red Bull’, if I have 2, I would not sleep as they are heavily loaded with caffeine but are great for long boring drives or for keeping me going during the day. Like anything else these things aren’t for everyone.

If your seeing your GP even a locum, book a double appointment, especially if you have a history to get through. Some people here wear their heart on their sleeves and want the whole world to know about their life or even when they if they are constipated or worried about having a toothache. I view this positively, as it shows how different we are, in how we handle those demons and no matter what our problems are, there is a lot of understanding and help from within the club, on the forum in public or in private.
