You walk the line. Johnny Cash would raise a drink to you if he were here but sadly he is no more having passed away after Bob ... Hope. Sniff!

Back then I took our jack Russell with me everywhere in the lorry and she loved going in the sea there & a long walk down the beach, as Rod said the air had it's own aroma there and the smell of a wet dog shivering in the cab and the air outside that you could taste wasn't nice at times but the fish & chips there made up for it.
You were almost certainly on the Majuba Road car/lorry park in Redcar Ian - sea right in front of you, and Lackenby Steelworks to the left as you faced the water - the car park is still in use today!
The urea probably came from the Billingham/Haverton Hill plant - there there was a major producer there close to the River Tees. It's called CF Fertilisers now - but was originally part of ICI.
Alternatively, you could have been picking up from what was then ICI Wilton site itself - virtually every chemical known to man was produced there

Take a hike, eh. In the words of Sam Cooke I think that a change is gonna come ... and sooner rather than later.

There's a right racket pulsing through our neighbourhood tonight. Googled it to find that the Spice Girls are gigging at the local football stadium which is just a stones throw away. They are on stage now having hit it at 20.30 after the warmup act.

The answer lies in my profile Richard.

The passing of Steve Jobs who I think died after Johnny Cash accelerated the trend which began with the passing of Bob Hope.

Sure did, the smell of sulphur and sea air was something I will never forget

Norfolk is not without its own aroma, after all it does largely reside on one big bog ... and the steam rises off it until midday in more than a few places.
