Didn't know he played the piano!

Still thinking about the solution to my wandering spare wheel, found a substantial bit of self adhesive velcro, hook side, about 2"x8", wondering if I could do anything with that to hold it in place?

Velcro will hold it if you use enough. Can you get the wheel out of the cover without removing the cover from the boot? If not the cover will be a pest to pull away from the Velcro.

Hi Brian, would be sticking the hook side velcro to the cover so that it acts on the boot carpet. I did that with a box I carried (compressor etc) and smaller strips of hook side velcro, never moved. Looking to keep the wheel against the rear seats, keep the weight within the wheelbase and leaves more of the boot useable. Trouble is that would mean I'd just about have to get in the boot to fully unzip the cover!

That's the very early school run over for another week - two more days to do the job this week, but they're both 7.45am starts - so that's a bit more civilised. Glad I took the car this morning - it absolutely hoyed it down whilst I was out.

Bearing in mind the few times (hopefully) you will have to use the spare, it might not be a huge problem.
