Man, you are doing well . Why do your rings need changing? Pardon my ignorance.

A bit of blue smoke on acceleration. Any thoughts? Only done 64k but I think it's had a bad history. Thanks for asking, by the way, Brian.

Some nice looking work there Steven
I have a pair of upper rear arms to replace in the very near future, so will be going along the same lines. Unfortunately the low mileage subframe and one very good upper arm I salvaged from a low mileage 06 plated car was appropriated by some lowlife pikey scrapmen, so it will be a slower job than yours Brian |

The lower arms are quite cheap new. I did see a used sub frame and upper arms on ebay recently and they looked ok. But I'd change bushes if I went down that route. If you're looking to change the tow brackets, just be careful. There seem to be a few around but look like they've delaminated. The salvaged ones I got still had the left and right stamped on them. The ones I had replaced had lost about .5mm on gauge. I'm guessing that's not significant but just a thought.
If I can help in any way... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

What's happening with the car brother? You had mentioned your dad was thinking of making some aluminium bushes for the subframe. What tool did he fashion to press some of the bushes out? Could you attach a picture

We’ve got three of the bushes out. The forth was too heavy corroded. We just heated up the surrounding metal and hammered them out using a big socket. The bushes really are simple things. I’ve I could get some aluminium round bar, I’m sure it would be easy to recreate.

It's still a going slowly. No time. I have been doing up the brakes one at a time. I got to the rear brake calipers, and one was seized solid. I see on eBay a brand new pair for £84.

Ok , didn't realize they were solid Ali. What I am trying to pry out of you :-) is did he actually make them, or did you just fit off the shelf ones. If it's off the shelf, where did you get them .
