Surgery - we all know the standard risks of surgery. Specialist didn't go into any detail about possible surgery, just that it may be an option.
One thing I do know is I've had enough, if I could get a decent kip it wouldn't be so bad but I'm up 3-4 times every night, some nights I don't get to sleep at all. I can't find an effective painkiller, I've been given some that would stun a horse but they doing nothing for me, either that or give me side effects worse than the pain from the shoulder! I'm left with very limited movement (can't move the arm to the back or out to the side) and at best I have a constant dull ache that ramps up to a sharp piercing pain (like a hot knife in the joint) if I do any activity including driving any distance, even just along to the local shops.
Have you tried strapping the arm to your side and taking a diazepam Steve? I know it sounds drastic but it would make the shoulder immobile and give you a good sleep at least for one night

I'm not into bondage Tony, that's more Jeff's department!

I am to get a steroid injection as a matter of urgency! Unfortunately couldn't be done today as she reckons the tendon I twanged is still inflamed so it'll be next Friday. The twang she reckons was a tendon caught out of position and returning to where it should be. I hadn't noticed but she reckons the shoulder is getting worse, other options (surgery etc) would be months away and although there are some risks with the injection they are worth it to get some relief now. There's a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel again, hope it isn't another train! Last time I said that I was sideswiped by the scan report!

Yesterday for the first time in months, we managed to get back from The Royal Free to home on public transport without a struggle - a big plus for us

The scan : 1 out of 3 arteries in the leg is working. The scan concentrated on the blockage behind the knee and the one on the ankle. Another artery is part working, so that is progress. Another positive is that I will not lose the leg in the next month or before Christmas - No sign of gangrene setting in.

I am not sure what the NHS surgeon is going to say about the results. We are seeing the private surgeon on 25 Nov. He said that he will know the best level of function for the leg which can be achieved by that date and then to decide if I am to have a bypass or not.

As I am not a cardiac risk, he thinks I should survive the GA but have to be aware that the op might not work, post op complications, infections clots and losing the leg if it goes bad, but if it goes well, I would be back to my old self by next spring and no pain

The op in fact goes from the groin, not illustrated with 2 other procedures: the transplant of another vein from the other leg and the other procedure: tying off the blockage behind the knee.
I'm glad they can do it and hope everything goes well with the operation on the date.

Were all loyal and we will back each other no matter what, last night yourself and many members as well did help, its something i can't forget.

Default new song and a question?

This afternoon I have been making a new dance track which I called My Girl which is in memorial to my Ex girl friend who died after high school, sad stuff really. I have made many different versions of this song and this seems to be the most powerful of the lot. There maybe a slightly better version of it up in the future as I have not had a chance to master it an won't for the foreseeable future as I'm getting really busy for the next couple of weeks.

This is the song in question: https://youtu.be/-TVu4yWESL0

[Adjust your volume down as you may jump out of your skin as it starts fairly loud!]

Today I've been doing a repair on my dads shed as it had really bad wood rot and needed all the window frame and door frames sorting out and replaced. I did some excellent work and made it all posh with the router

Next he wants me to fix his logia as that has bad wood rot as well, but he will have to wait as I have been asked to make a table and stool set on my lathe for a pretty bob for in two weeks time and this will be taking considerable time as the design they want is quite difficult to build. They want it made out of oak boards which have been reclaimed and am picking them up tomorrow (which will be a funny sight as I will have to strap them to the roof and deliver them to my house).

I have been wondering about something mind and will probably ask on the main forum about it, but this is the question: Does the auxiliary belt system on the CDTi run backwards when you shove the car into reverse? I ask this mainly as when my pulley gave out, it was because we shoved the car into reverse really quickly and the old girl didn't like that and started sounding like a bag of spanners after that. Also does the belt speed change with speed of the car or only when extra power is required to the aircon and alternator.

Like the music Stuart .
But think I might need resussitating if I danced to that for nearly 5 min

Not that I can dance anyway.
Just about mastered the twist in the 60's

Also the belts go faster as you accelerate.
The inner small belt runs the air con.allthough its rotating all the time it only drives the air con pump via a clutch when switch on you atc.

The long belt runs the alternator , power steering pump.

Valves and timing are chain driven inside the engine
