Default TOAF cylinder numbering on KV6

Can anyone confirm a distant memory I have about TOAF (v05-00-43 for Windows), that is it misidentifies the cylinder numbering of the KV6 engine?

Cylinder 1, according to the workshop manual is the front bank cylinder closest to the crankshaft pulley, but TOAF identifies this as cylinder 6, so in effect the cylinder numbering is reversed.

The correct numbering is front bank, from the crankshaft pulley 1 - 3 - 5 and rear bank, from the crankshaft pulley is 2 - 4 - 6, but as I said, I have a distant memory that TOAF reverses this order on the 2.5 KV6, so front bank, from the crankshaft pulley is 6 - 4 - 2 and the rear bank, from the crankshaft pulley is 5 - 3 - 1

Or am I just imagining it LOL

Steve

I think you might be remembering a post on the dark side, but that was the diesel engine (https://www.mg-rover.org/threads/cdt...h-toaf.836410/). Can't say that I've noted any peculiarities when it comes to the KV6 and Toaf.

your numbering is correct. toaf not. dont know why as the firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2- number 1 cylinder front bank at primary belt end. 1-3-5 front 2-4-6 rear from primary belt. ....
