He has looked all over the country looking for the right one. But none of them were a Supercharged ZTT.

Thanks Ian, but I haven’t decided whether to stay with another MG or a Rover. I’m leaning towards a small diesel. Mind you last time I looked for a small runabout I ended up buying the Bear.

Maybe try a bit of reverse psychology? Deliberately look for a bigger car and you may end up with a small runabout.

Why go for a small runabout for economy? My Jaguar X Type Estate (diesel auto) does between 40 (local) and 60 (long runs) mpg with no problem.

Parking is a pain around here. I just need a runabout, although I have seen a very nice MG TF in Xpower Grey. Also spotted a Citroen D3 with a diesel lump.

I agree. Here's a nice runaround for the inclines in Cornwall. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-det...ceDeposit=true

I took ours for a 150 mile night-time cruise to/from Stansted at 2:00am the other day. Just cruised at a constant 60MPH and the cumputer is indicating over 54MPG. That's the same as I would get over the same journey from our Corsa 1.2 runabout!
