I see they also auctioning this Hillman Minx, guide price £4,500-£5,000.

I had one as a teenager, same model, same year, same colour. I paid £10 for it.

I passed through Thornton le Dale the other week and the facelift tourer was sat outside in the sun.
It looked very straight and shiny from the road, the saloon was also there but too many people around it for me to see properly.

That tourer looks lovely (Apart from the abs light and missing door handle trim)

Never a good idea to look at current values of things you used to have

They also have a Hillman Imp.

https://www.mathewsons.co.uk/product...eers-and-by-p/

When we came to the UK in 1971, we used to walk past one on a garage forecourt in Hounslow on sale for £230 and dream that one day we'd have a car like that. Never did!

I suppose our Corsa is a modern equivalent to the Imp.

Surely, Andy, you would not settle for such a bodge. You'd paint a black patch over the area

I did repair an IPK once that had a piece of cork elegantly shaped to fit the square shape where the airbag light sits!!

Removed the cork, light was on (Obviously) Soldered the seat wires and all was well again, it would have taken the person twice as long to fashion the cork bodge than it would to repair the underseat wiring.
