There are plenty of idiots on the road. Going up a hill that drops off quite quickly when you reach the top, today when I got to the brow of the hill , faced standing traffic with brake lights on. Dustcart blocking road. I stopped but heard skidding tyres behind........then at the side of me. Young lad in the works van ended up halfway along my car. If he had hit me, it would have been goodbye to the Connie. What really is the matter with drivers these days?

I'll second that. Few years ago I inherited my father's Suzuki Grand Vitara XL-7 after he passed away. I was going to a local shop, right of way on the main road when a Freelander flew out of a side road and torpedoed me. The Suzuki was a write off. Other driver was a local so no idea what the hell he was thinking of.

Went to see the car today, what a mess!
If anyone was in doubt about the strength of these cars this serves as an amazing example. Even more insane the electrics still worked, radio, central locking the lot! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eF3...ew?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MNB...ew?usp=sharing |

Wow.
That's a testament to some serious structural integrity, particularly as our cars are around 2 decades old. |

When my ZT was hit the front hazard bulbs were hanging by their wires, still flashing. The xenons weren't as lucky. I picked up the projector lenses, still intact off the road.

So glad that you are safe and well and able to tell us about it. Really impressed at the way the car protected you so well. All the very best, Nicholas/Zircon |

The car did exactly what it was supposed to do. Protect you and yours. Well done Rover. Take care. Mike
