Default Where do you point your key for a perfect and quick opening?

You know the situation fine gentlemen. You are heading like a supreme gentleman towards your great Rover 75. But it occurs to me that I need to come very close to the car to opening it up with the key fob.

I point it straight to middle but nothing happens.

I remember when I had the Jaguar XF it had 10 or even 12 sensors around, so you always could open the car.

Where are the sensors, fine gentlemen to open it up easily? Or how do you open it up? I know it sounds weird.

Hope you guys can give me your ideas.

Thanks

Hello Kim, on the early models, pre 2002, the receiver module for the remote control was located under the centre console, and on later models this was relocated to behind the speedometer.

So if the battery is ok in the key, then unless you want to get creative with the wiring, there isn't an awful lot you can do I'm afraid

put it to the side of your head whilst pressing the button. I dont know how or why it works, and have read many many explanations for it (both odd and sensible), but it works and extends its range too lol.

In saying that though, I just push the button as I approach the driver's door and it opens.

Believe it or not next time you are a good distance from your car, point the fob at your head and press to open, you will be surprised to see the lights flash to show that the car has opened.

Bones and my current one - nightmares for this! The 54 Conte was fine. Must be earlier cars that like to do it hehe!

Stand on one leg with your trouser leg rolled up with the key pointing upright above your head - it won't make any difference but it will give everybody a laugh!

I stick mine in my ear, and look at the front door. When it has unlocked, I get a singing noise in my ear. Usually ‘Auld Lang sigh’.
