Cool Banana is heading way up North.............

..................................on one of her mini tours of the UK, starting tomorrow. First stop off is up as far as Newburn near Newcastle, staying at the Keelman's Arms pub and brewery for two nights. Have a beer or two with RPWC, Roger and possibly Bob Thompson, all forum members.

Then leaving on Friday morning for the trip up to Grantown-on-Spey for the Motor Mania car show on Sunday the 3rd. Staying at a guesthouse with Graham1961 and Mr. & Mrs. Davidson (Flyer). Will also be meeting Les Finne and Chris Roy at some point over the weekend. Plus no doubt a few other forum members.

A trip up the Cairgorans is planned. I would also like to take a trip up to Lossiemouth and possibly another trip up to John O'Groats, but depends on the weather.

Our return trip is back to Newburn, for at least one night, where we are hoping to meet up with Allen & Val, (Ratty), who are on holiday from Saltash in Cornwall. Then I'll be driving home(!) to Essex.

So old Yella is ready to rock n roll. Banana juice filled up, oil and water checked, screen wash topped up and tyre pressures including spare checked.

She had to give up her parking space this morning. I had a Freelander in to wash, clay, wax and finish off. But she is now cuddled up to her LOUD Sister.

So should we get seen, don't forget to wave, toot or flash those lights.

Default Lossiemouth

Hi Bob,

As you know my son is stationed at RAF Lossiemouth and I spent a lot of my childhood time at my grandparents in nearby Elgin. Fabulous place in good weather.

Interestingly there is a fabulous viewing spot for the RAF Typhoons ( and frequent visiting aircraft if lucky P8s Merlins etc. ) This is at the sea end of the runway. Turn off first left after begining of golf course. Park at end and walk up unmade road. ( Don't take Banana up it as it is now full of potholes!) Two minute walk from parking area at begining.

Now, they come close if taking off/ landing from sea. AND I mean close!

View from other end not bad but not as close. Worth a visit. No flying Saturday Sunday usually.

Chris

Looking forward to meeting up with you Bob, you want to meet at Bankfoot (Perthshire) anytime then convoy up.

I have booked the Garth for dinner on the Saturday evening.

A trip on the Cairngorm mountain railway is on the menu.

I expect to run up on my own Graham, if the weather allows I will stop and get a few pictures on the route.

Is it worth booking the Garth for the Sunday night as last year everywhere was shut after the show, just a thought.

Safe trip Graham.
