I've recently retired my Connie 2.5 with a major engine fault. I've converted to lpg (in 2000 actually, but changed to R75 in 2007).
On wednesday I went to pick up my replacement car same model same year (though some options are different). I haven't really been driving since last xmas. I passed my local Morrisons; they have increased the cost of lpg to an astronomical 79.4p/litre! Last time I went they had increased to 72.4p (when they re-opened after the fuel shortages), previously they had been 59.4p for years. Needless to say I'm quickly getting on with transferring the lpg over to the new R75. |

One thing that has surprised me is that I have not noticed any difference in driving behaviour despite sky high cost of fuel.Folks are still flying by 70-80 mph plus,I would have expected to see a general reduction in speed to conserve fuel.

Noticed similar on a trip to Ipswich yesterday. I'm happily cruise engaged at 56 mph behind an East bound lorry and stuff's going past me quite quickly., including a new Aston, but then £100k plus of car, owner ain't gonna bother at £100+ to fill it. |

locally I am driving slower but on a "run" am travelling at the speed limit on motorways.
I've just filled up less than half a tank to full as tomorrow it will probably cost more per litre macafee2 |

I am sure fuel thefts from vehicles will increase. Perhaps we should not fill our cars up to full. macafee2 Last edited by macafee2; 11th June 2022 at 19:19.. |
