One of the first things I did when I bought the car was to see to my plenums.
Had been to see BigRuss about a new key and while there he kindly checked them and there was 2" of water sloshing about so he rodded the drain. A short time after, I did the spyhole mod, fitted a Jules Plenum Guard and fitted fine mesh over the covers. It recently rained for two days and on inspection the Plenums are dry. I'm told the diesel ECU's are more prone to water damage but whatever, it's an area none of us can afford to ignore and the fixes are simple and inexpensive. Harry |

My understanding is that the ecu units in the petrol engines are sealed , where as the diesel ones are not. They need to be vented to the atmosphere as the ecu needs to read air pressure, therefore a flooded plenum in the petrol is not as serious as the oil burner?
