That's a shame... I really like how those 4 needles are the same. The smallest needle is a lot more different then the big ones. I don't like that...

I only just now noticed that the needles are actually several different sizes. A big one, a slightly smaller one, 1 medium one, 1 slightly-smaller-medium one and 1 really small one.
I asked him what length these needles are, because I can also just order the ones I need.

I shortened the 2 long ones to the standard rover length then trimmed the back of the fuel and temp ones so they would turn in the ipk

I bought my 75 back in March and it has been SORN'd since then.

Having MOT'd it, fixed a few things, installed a new interior etc its on the road .

I thought Id take advantage of the appropriate reg number . . .

Maybe stressful financially for some. Again not me. I drive mainly MGs and Rovers since the 1960s which have been uber-reliable.

The most I've had to pay out on an MoT for over twenty years now was recently on my second MG ZT 1.8t bought as MoT and Tax expired suspect damaged cylinder head "spares or repair" car. £125 including test fee. Needed the broken offside rear spring replaced.

Mind you, unlike far too many car users today, I do check a range of basics on my own and family's cars as all car manufacturers recommend. As me old granny used to tell me when I was still at infants school.... aged nine or ten.

Do you know how the complete saying goes? I was far too young to understand what she meant but, I soon came to understand.

In some way it was the best advice I've ever been given and has stood me in good stead many times in so many ways ever since.

The last car I MoT-ed was my MG ZS mainly used by my wife. That was last month. It would have failed on a non-working rear side light. My friendly MoT tester tapped the lamp but it did not do the trick.... this time. He fitted a new bulb ... no charge. Two advisories. Both front tyres near legal limit. Will need new ones soon.
I don't get stressed about the cost of the mot or the cost of a fail. The only time I get stressed is with the inconvience of taking it to the station
