Default Exhaust Rusted

My 75 has just passed its MOT but I noticed today that the back box has a large hole in the outer skin due to rust but the inner skin seems to be intact

Should I get it swapped now, if so will I need only the rear section or the whole lot (superficially the front bit looks OK)

I am too old to crawl under now, so I will have to get it done by a fitter. Mr Exhaust near London online quote is £121.80 which seems good but I live in Durham. Has anyone got a good deal on these locally.

Any tips gratefully received

If it is an original then I seem to remember they are triple skin so the loss of the outer skin is no great detriment. I would be tempted to hang on to the original as long as possible as some replacement boxes can be quite noisy.

My first MOT (7 years ago) noted the same thing. I bought a replacement for when it eventually went.

The inner skinned original is still passing MOTs while the replacement is rusting away in storage.

Had exactly the same, the 'old' original exhaust went on forever after the outer skin rusted away. It was a large hole in the exhaust pipe towards the back of the car that forced me to change the back box in the end!
