Default problem removing top nut on rear shocks

Hi first time working on my suspension and stuck removing this nut, put ring spanner on and Allen key and all I get is spring when levering them together like something is ready to snap, so first I assume its a normal nut and not left hand thread. so any hints I could try I have left it with plusgas sprayed on it for the moment ?
Thanks

If in doubt, give it a clout, the bigger the doubt, the bigger the clout!

I can see no logical reason why anyone would make this a left hand thread. But I would not know specifically. Can't you see some of the thread? and determine the direction?

I suspect it is only rust, and that you are not ham fisted enough.
Soak in penetrating oil for starters, and eat some spinach!

well the corroded nut came off no problem(I hadn't touched this one yet) and the nut that looked like new took a 3' breaker bar and a set or 3' stillsons to get it to move.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, it is an electrical problem!
