This video makes it look easy. But, I think there are good ideas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYf0YBTQopg&t=23s Glenn

I do not fully understand the question but will try and help.
The steering rack is mounted to the sub frame, this need to be undone and tied up to support it. If removing the sub frame I sure the exhaust needs to be removed Front arms need to be detached from front suspension Some hoses need to be removed. To help lower sub frame remove one bolt at a time and replace with a 10 or 12 mm length of studding with a washer and nut on it. When all 4 are done you can undo the nuts to gently lower the sub frame. The studding will also help re-align the sub frame and the nuts can then be done up to lift the sub frame into position and one at a time the studding removed and the proper bolts and washers installed. label every point where you remove something. put nuts and bolts from each item in a jar and label the jar The sub frame is very heavy. good luck macafee2 Last edited by macafee2; 10th December 2022 at 13:57.. |

Are you having trouble getting the bushes off the lower arms? If so no need to drop the subframe - just get a drill 6 to 8 mm is fine and drill a hole into the rubber then let the drill chew up the rest of the rubber by moving it round whilst it is in the hole.
Once the rubber connecting to the outer bush housing has been separated remove the housing, and with a hacksaw cut across what is left on the lower arm , split it and then take it off. Far easier than dropping the subframe. |

Go to search at top of page, and just click on it. Put ‘full suspension overhaul illustrated’ in and you will get the full monty of subframe removal.
