Thanks Rob – good to hear it wasn’t just me! Quote:
I don’t know if you found that the little vertical spindle was somewhat tight in the bottom locating hole…? I get what you’re saying about the motor maybe being weak, but to me it sounds like teeth are slipping, rather than nothing moving… sometimes… I suppose if you bought a motor, and maybe even another set of gears, from the same source as the case, it might all work together… Something like this - the eBay "garage" nonsense says it doesn't fit our cars, but I imagine it does... Agreed about the lid… haven't really studied the case. Did you just swap the actual motor cage, or all 3 casing parts? I didn’t swap the bit with the toothed ring inside, as that looked like being a pain to remove – also didn’t seem to be worn. Quote:
Funny, I didn’t even know there were two different shapes when I bought mine – somebody on the forum advertised them, I bought them, and much later somebody else told me they weren’t “right” for my car – like you, now that I do know I prefer them anyway. Guess I’ll just bolt it back to the car and always park with the driver’s door facing out for now! Though to be honest, it’s starting to grind and jerk a bit now too
