Gentlemen thank you all very much for all your advice. Unfortunately I’ve been laid up due to illness so I haven’t been able to get over to the mechanic to see it for myself - the next step. Once I assess the situation I’ll let you know. Thanks again.

If it's the captive nut that has came free, grind the head off the bolt, remove the other bolts and let the sub frame down, weld an old socket to the bolt, drill a 10mm hole as close as as you can to the bolt going in to the chassis,
you can now weld the captive nut to the chassis ( make sure it's square so you can get the new bolt back in) when it's still hot use the socket to remove the old bolt, weld up the hole as fit your new sub frame. . Last edited by johnt_21; 26th May 2019 at 15:26.. |
