Been following this thread and now it's just about at it's end I want to thank you Christopher, it's been great. I have only been to Malta once back in 1974 for Christmas and New year, we stayed in St Pauls Bay,I was only 15 but still remember it fondly, I must go back one year, I must!!!

Hi Christopher,
Trust you arrived back in Rugby okay and would join all the other posters in thanking you for entering such an enjoyable account of your new purchase. Just one question. Are going to put your R70 cherished reg number on your new acquisition, and be up sides with R40. Hope you have had time for some rest after your mammoth trip. Regards, Telfer. |

Thanks all - I slept a very long sleep and now its back to work!
I should be there at POL with this 75 (hopefully it may even be washed by then!!) ... eventually "R70 FVE" will transfer over to this one. The silver one will HAVE to be retired it makes no sense to do otherwise (and I cant afford so many 75's to tax etc.) - so, once all the "wooden" bits and bits of hi-tech have been transferred over the current 75, R70 will have to be retired I have to say though that I enjoyed the autobox experience - and whilst it doesn't pull like my ZT 190 the V6 2.0 Litre still has a nice pull when you stamp your foot down!! See you all soon at POL ... and thanks for all the nice comments, it was a fun trip, wish I had time to take a bit more of a scene route, but I have done the Mt Blanc route a few times now and so at least I have seen it in the daylight before!!

There are still plenty of 75's running about in Malta.
I've spotted several already without even trying on this visit. Today it was a nice Aston Martin with the plate AM V8 also a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow with SHADOW 11 In Malta you can have almost anything as long as it fits on a standard size plate, I even spotted IRA just on it's own I'm surprised DVLA don't offer such numbers. |
