Leak on drivers side...
I'm sure this is a question that has come up many times. I found lots of useful information about keeping the plenums clean and after realizing there is an inch of water in the drivers side of the floor I checked the plenums and all is ok. On using a hose around the front screen I have established the water is coming from the front and not from the rear or from around the doors. Any ideas as to where I should look or what the problem might be? Thanks, Les.

Do you have a sunroof at all? there are tubes that guide water from the sunroof to the outside through the vicinity of the A-pillar .. you may have a detached hose down there ...
Just a thought.

Was just a thought - worth a try (I think that has happened in my ZT!). Looks like you are looking at door seals then?

I have stripped out lots of bits in order to fold back the the carpet on the drivers side and then hosed around the doors and all is fine with the doors, water is coming from the front but only into the drivers side, passengers side is dry. Les

I'd suggest using the Google based search system. There are lots of threads about water leaks into the front footwells.
This for example: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...=210507&page=2 Which links to: http://www.75ztcommunity.co.uk/rain-...-t5856-20.html TC |

Thanks TC, as I have the seats, etc., removed I think I should remove the center console in order to remove the carpet so that I can dry it out. Where do I begin in relation to removing the radio, and the center console? Is there a thread already on this site showing how its done? Also......I know there are some Northern Ireland guys on this site, I would like to make contact with some of them. Thanks, Les

Check that the gaiter around the base of the steering column is really well sealed in, it has 2 parts, one part is accessed from inside the cab, the other is underneath in the oily bits above the steering rack.

Hy Les
I had the same problem, i spent about 12-18 months trying to find how the water was getting in, i found that the only way to do that was to take the carpet out, Then i think you will find all of the drivers side at least will be flooded. When you have taken the carpet out dry the inside of the car, Then you can pour water on the front wind shield to see where the water is getting in, DONT be tempted to seal the place where the water is coming in the car on the inside, Seal the out side where the water is getting in, you will find how to remove the carpet on here,or go to you tube. My car is Rover 75 CDTI Club David Have a look on here might help http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...emoving+carpet Last edited by kidley; 13th July 2015 at 11:02.. Reason: added link |
