This forum is ok. It isn't as great as you make it out to be. Some forums are run with a little less iron fist and they seem to run a bit more freely. It's still good for info and most of the guys on here are genuine and level headed but there are some that think because of length of service and relationship with the mods, that any opinions other than there own are not worthy of being read. Just my opinion and I'm not slating any particular members but it's something I myself and other members have observed.

I was on a couple of vintage radio and TV forums. One I was on was awful, it had the spelling police, the admin and mods were derogatory and when I told them how badly they treated people I was banned. Another I was on got awful and I retired my membership.
Quite glad I'm not there now. This forum is tops for me.

My mate is in the Austin seven owners club,a while ago he took his engine to,someone in the club to be refurbed. As a time served engineer himself,he was hoping to get hands on and help the guy out with the machining, when he picked up a tool to out in the machine, the bloke went off it with him. "You don't touch that!! He shouted,Mick explained that he knew what he was doing as he was a time served turner, but the bloke would have none of it ,and treated him like he was a naughty school kid. An example of what you describe,in another club

I only post on two forums, (although I am a member of several), this being one, the other being TMF, (theminiforum.co.uk). Both this and TMF are run in a very similar way, no swearing, racism, politics etc etc. The biggest thing for me though on both forums is the amount of respect that members give each other, no matter what age, race, colour etc. http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/

Hi John. I agree with you totally. It is nice to come on here and not have to read drivel from someone who is only out to cause bad feeling among members. Mostly I have found that almost everyone who post's is only interest in our cars, and the wellbeing of fellow members. Long may it be so. By the way, when are we going to have another Llangollen meeting? Really enjoyed the first one.

For me this was my first real experience of forums when I joined, I now belong to lots of forums including ones for my photography hobby but most I find to be very cold and impersonal unlike this place!
Sure it has it's ups and downs and members falling out with each other from time to time, that's just the way the world turns though. I think the moderators do an excellent job as they are very much dammed if they do, damned if they don't and it's not a job I'd wish to do Here's to many more years of forum life
