I will try the ribe bit as suggested but the location in the bolt has been .....shall we say well mullered. It is as good as round, nothing to bite on and looks like many attempts have been made to remove, serving only to cause more damage. |

Thanks for the offer David, I shall keep that in mind if I have no joy. That's the great thing about this club and its members, so many out there like you, willing to help. Thanks again. Tony |

before attempting any of the suggestions take a drift and hammer to the head of the bolt. By hitting the dead of the bolt all be it downwards as if hammering it into place it does loosen the bolt somewhat. Made a lot of difference when I undid mine.
As got the suggestion of a chisel, I'd use a dot punch instead. macafee2 |

Not too sure where it is but could you get a padsaw in and form a screwdriver slot? If it's that tight it probably won't move but I thought a flat bit in a small ratchet maybe?

And if you first hammer down into the edge of the bolt with a sharp chisel then you have a ledge for extra purchase to go in either with the chisel or a punch at an angle. These two were holding the clutch pressure plate on my Freelander. [IMG][/IMG] |
