I worked for them. It's a great great tyre, especially in larger profiles but all reports we got indicated that the smaller profiles 35,40 and 45 they where struggling with side wall cracking and had to try several variations of compound and mix pre baking.

Tyre pressures and rotational use (eg car not sitting for any length) are beyond essential on them.

You will start to see complaints next summer imo when the tyres dry out after a winter usage and tyres scrapped around the 12k mark due to cracking.

However if the tyres are in a constant climate you should not need to worry. It will effect European owners far more.

I see now. Thanks. I will be on 195 65 15 and I intend using the crossclimates through the year. I do about 17k miles a year and the car wont be sitting for more than about 3 days at a time. I'm guessing these tyres will be ok with that......yes?

I am in love with the Crossclimate though it`s the tread pattern I think and really considered changing even though the ones on now are almost still like new.

Lucky you mine would have to be 225/45/R18 XL and they work out way expensive.

Rating B, A and 68 for economy, grip and noise.

The Mitchelins should work better in the winter.
Rating C, A and 68 for economy, grip and noise.

But I have never had the Michelins before. What do you think?
As a Which? member when I need new tyres I always go on to the website and check out the latest reviews, you need to be a subscribed member to get the full low down, but the £75 a year it costs is well worth it in my view, it can save you literally hundreds by buying properly tested goods, and tyres are no exception.

You would be surprised to learn that some brands are not all that good when tested independently.

I am on Continental premium contacts at the moment recommend them 100%.

Fair enough.

But I will stick to what I have at the moment.

I don't think the ZT-T would look right on a set of Crowns let alone fit.

When I got my car I fitted Dunlop Blueresponse all round and have been happy with them. They are quiet and have good fuel economy and grip but they are soft and wear quickly.

I've just fitted some dunlop blueresponse to replace a pair that have worn out after 14,000 miles over two years. As well as the wear, there was cracking around the circumference of the tyre between the tread blocks. Better safe than sorry.

I'm hoping that the new ones will last longer than the old. The wheel alignment was badly out when I bought the car so the rears wore very quickly before I manged to get it fixed. They lasted a little over a year and 8000 miles - but that can be forgiven under the circumstances and the replacements are wearing evenly and much, much less rapidly.

I briefly considered the Michelin cross climate and I would be very interested to hear from people who have tried both.

New Michelin Crossclimate tyres have now replaced the Dunlop BluResponse that were on the front wheels (Dunlops still on the rear).

I've only done 40 miles but I'm very pleased with them. So far they seem to be just as quiet, comfy and grippy as the Dunlops.

While the car was in I had them change all the tyres onto my set of crowns, and they look looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooovely.
