Default Engine cooling fan

Hi guys,
have problem with low speed engine cooling fan. apparantly some resister is faulty.
Can one of you guys advise me what to get and where to purchase.
Can do work myself if I knew what to get.
diesel conny 2005 automatic.
High speed function ok on engine cooling fan.

If you are certain you have a two speed fan with a resistor then one option is to contact member Jules or DMGRS on here for a resister upgrade kit. on a 2005 car its a bumper off job.

Have a look through the grille and somewhere on the right on the fan mount you should see a silver or gold resistor. It's about 3 inches long and is the only obviously metal bit in there with all that plastic. New ones are easily obtained from DMGRS or eBay, but make sure you get a gold one as the silver ones are the cause of your problem.

If you've got a Mk1 then you can get at what you need by just popping off the grille and one of the little plastic shrouds behind it. Whip off the old resistor, remembering where the wires go and re-fit in reverse order. If you've got a Mk2 then I think it'll be a bumper-off job.

mK 2 Bumper is easy to get off any way. thanks for info.

am passing thru Wales tomorrow on way home to Ireland ,if Jules has correct resistors in stock may buy of him. will have to check that out.

Many thanks, am passing Jules on way to Holy head, have contacted him and can pick a new resistor up from Jules and fit when aI GET HOME TO ireland.

It could also be the low speed fan motor brushes.Just changed mine.
