Sunroof drain
So, back in the autumn i followed Arctics excellent how to on sorting the leaking sunroof drains.
Since then I have kept my ZT under a rain cover and only had it out on dry days. Today though with some time to kill I thought I would check the drains. They seem to work fine BUT the one above the passenger seat seems to have come loose where the drain hole is. The majority of the water goes through the pipe as it should bit some is tracking down the outside and dripping down into the foot well. Any ideas how I can either fix or bypass this? |

When I did mine, I used silicone to seal around the pipe and the tube. I also used a cut down silicone nozzle as a coupling between the pipe and the rubber.

I used plastic pipe reducers to fix my 4x drainage tubes tightly into the rubber sleeves.

I have just done mine and used 15mm copper plumbing pipe, the drain from the roof is a slide in fit to which i added a bit of sealant and the other end is a good fit into the wheel arch tube also sealed with silicone.
The carpet was drowned on the drivers side and i used a wet and dry hoover to remove the worst and then drilled a 12mm hole near to the sill in an area that is lower than the general floor level due to profile of the floor. My drive is on a slope and when it haas been parked facing down hilll the remaining water in the foot well has gradually dripped out.I really should have removed the carpet but dont have the free time to do so. |

Hi Simon.
Did you use the barbed connectors for the tube to the outlet drains?

Yeah, I used the barbed connectors for the join in the pipes next to the fuse box, they seem to be fine. Majority of water goes down the pipe and exits via the wheel arch. Some though starts dripping down the inside of the footwell adjacent to the bottom of the door. The connector area is bone dry leading me to think the water is tracking down the outside of the pipe and finally dripping down where either the pipe bends or it touches bodywork |
