Not much today on the Tourer or the FL just usual checks, fluids, and tyres etc. then gave them both a wash.

Wheels off tomorrow maybe and give them a good clean, them a coating of clear paint Lacquer.

I finally finished my wheel rehab project.
I Ground off the P/O's curbing damage, primed, painted and clear-coated all 4 wheels.
I also repainted my original alloy hub caps and swapped the badges off a set of new plastic caps.
I have to say I am very happy with the results. Not as good as getting the wheels done professionally but the cost was $600. less.

Hi Sean. I notice you now put a chock under the wheel after the last scrape on the wall?

Lol, the handbrake should work on that car Dave, and it's an automatic for extra "Park" security

What a pain - You have to connect the electrical plug BEFORE hanging the door, and after hanging, you can't get a spanner on the hinge to body bolts to adjust the fit!
As for releasing the two central clips hold the door card on...
Just the mirror to check its motors and refit.
if you have to do this job again it is far easyer to split the hinge if you look were the hince pivots there is a circlip/pin if you remove them ie top of each hinge the door lifts of then you just have to split the harnesss

That's how I do the job Steve, I can also appreciate how some have difficulty manoeuvring the door back onto the pins.

On the occasions I've not had a helper to assist in rehanging the door, I use an old trolley jack to lift the door, the cup removed and replaced with a piece of timber with a slot milled in the top, on which the door edge sits safely.

This makes the job of positioning the door and dropping it back onto the pins much easier

Put the black one on trickle charge this morning and went to the mother-in-laws in the silver one to drop off food an milk, also to retrieve her television remote control from under her bed! The roads are really quite around here, makes a change. Returned home, parked up on the drive and thought both cars need a wash, still waiting for my Farecla clay mitt wnd detailer to arrive so I can thoroughly clean and polish the black one.
