Not sure if they would work but I got some new keys for my rover tow bar from fast keys.

If the bars you're looking at are key code 27, then send me a PM.

I'll put my 27 key in the post, to get them off the car.

Then you can have a copy cut, and send original back to me.

Regards

Mike

It looks like these bars are going to be scrapped. Apparently there is no key number on the locks. I am very disappointed.
I am going to start a new thread in the general section, a plea to borrow keys so I can get lucky.

I have just taken one of my bars out of the back of the garage.

Two points.

Firstly, I couldn't see the lock number, until I had the bar in daylight. It is marked on the rim of the lock, and is quite a small engraving, or stamp. You might even have to wipe it to read it.

Secondly, and positively, the securing bolt is only 5mm dia.
A hacksaw, above the rubber pad, and below the plastic moulding, might very well get the bars off.
The plastic moulding is very thin, whilst the rubber pad is quite thick, if you get this far, angle the blade into the pad, which would be easier to repair (if indeed it needed to be)

The bolt, can easily be replaced, as it is a standard bolt hex head, pushed into a plastic wingnut top.

Best of luck.

Regards

Mike

The scrap yard want the same money even if I get a key cut so they can take them off, I think that's a bit of a cheek.

I'd just saw through the bolts under the rubbers then replace both & you can sort the key at your leisure.

I don't think the scrapper will do that, if the car was where I could get to it I would but it is in a compound and they wont give public the access
