Starting the car up after a hard frost yesterday, the door open light came on. It wasn't an open door of course. Just an icy switch or whatever it is, once car interior warmed up, all back to normal.
A slight concern was remote locking just got the " pip" of the horn when trying to lock the car up. As with above, once warmed , no problem. |

I've had this in winter 2018/2019. Could open the door but then it wouldn't close anymore. Drove in the freezing cold with my window open and my arm hanging out like a rapper just to hold the door (making a right turn was hell since the door weighs a ton).
Naturally that wasn't a option for parking it over night outside. What I would do was just hunker down in my knees make a cup with my hands around the locking mechanism and breath in there. Eventually the lock would get warm enough to work again and I could shut the door and the lock would catch again. Looks like there is more going on with your lock... Sorry to hear

I had a similar issue last winter where my rear door wouldn't close. After lots of hot water and faffing about I got it to close and lock. What I didn't realise though was the latch hadn't actualy engaged properly and the door was only being held closed by the frost. I realised this the next morning when after 20 minutes driving the interior had heated up enough to melt the frost and the door swung open on a roundabout.

Now fixed thanks to Dave Lincs
Sorry for the delay, but the totally jammed passenger door has been fixed. I’d like to give a massively thank you to Dave Lincs without whom it would still be jammed.
After trying all the quick methods to unjam the door a broken lock mechanism was diagnosed by Dave. I purchased a replacement lock on eBay for approximately £20 and waited for some decent weather. Dave managed to remove the door card undamaged despite the door being jammed, how I don’t know🤔 he then chiselled the old lock off and fitted the eBay lock. Job done, so a massively thankful to Dave Lincs👏👏👏 I don’t know know what it is about the rover but despite a run of problems with it I still love it. |

Thanks Andy for taking the trouble to post the solution some three months after the problem first occurred. Members in future will thank you for that!
Simon PS Your profile is still showing that you haven't got a car! Perhaps you could enter the details which are vital when the next piece of trouble comes along to challenge us all.
