Depends on whether you're looking at it from my perspective or theirs. Either way, I blame ECP!

Rimmers supplies front callipers for 282mm or 325mm discs (I'm now pretty sure mine are 282mm). I guess the incorrect callipers ECP supplied earlier are for the 325mm discs and intended for the 190 models? There's so much inaccurate and misleading information about parts out there that it's a minefield for rank amateurs like myself to navigate. I just hope the replacement pads and hoses I purchased (not from ECP I hasten to add) are correct!

yes you are right minty2. although its a 190 engine with an autobox tune it does indeed use the 160 disc and caliper set up on the fronts. some have said that theirs have vented discs on the rears ... not sure about the fronts . some owners say they have solids on the rears of 180 models so who knows if they were fitted like this or changed. ....

Fronts are 325mm on the 190/260 & 282mm on the rest as far as I recall.

So, if ECP have supplied the wrong calipers, are they too big rather than too small?

Of course, there is a possibility that someone has carried out a '190 upgrade' on the front & therefore fitted the 325mm discs & larger calipers! (wheels to match too).

If that is the case, it wouldn't be ECP's fault because they would have gone by the reg number.

Yes, they’re too big and that was after relying on my reg number. I’ve got the right ones now.

I had a similar problem just the other week. I ordered a new front Calliper for my diesel from a local motor factor's. I gave them my car reg and make and model of my car only to end up receiving the wrong calliper. It was eventually sorted after a conversation with the shop

We are lucky that there are only two types of callipers on the 75/ZT, try owning a Volvo 740 when I wanted a couple of new callipers for mine a while back. There's ABS/Non-ABS, two or three sizes of discs and then either Bendix or Girling brakes as well.

Luckily, there are a couple of Swedish sites online which have copies of all the Volvo parts manuals to get the Volvo part number, which is invaluable particularly where I have a short change over model that could have anything fitted.

I find Rimmers site annoying now since they refreshed it a few years back, they used to have breakdown of all the part numbers, which even if it was no longer available was handy for getting a part number to put into Google or Ebay.
