The wife will be along before long to give me a clip around the lug for calling her pride and joy 'shibble' but to be fair it is a beautiful car in its own right and i love driving it but give me MG Rover any day.

For your list I would think that the end of UK sourced parts ended with the last of the SD1 production ? Kev Last edited by torque2me; 12th March 2021 at 07:42.. Reason: spelling |

I have only owned one foreigner in over 50 years - it was an Audi 100LS auto, and I kept it for all of 10 weeks. That says it all - we are all allowed one mistake!

Where do I start?
First was at age 19, a six year old V8 SD1, have had seven of them all in including last year. Metro 100 as well as several MG metros, 216 Wedge VP Efi, 216 Cabrio R8, plus just about everything else from the BL stable, except perhaps Princess/Ambassador. Took my test in an Acclaim. None of them including the SD1 Vitesse can hold a candle to a well sorted 75/ZT, of which I’m now on my 5th.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rover 2000TC, 1968 Zircon Blue 1 - written off when in collision with an uninsured driver who slid on ice coming around a sharp bend
Rover 3500S, paprika ran for a few years and then gave it some mates who wanted to do it up. Unfortunately it caught fire and was written off after they had been welding the floor! Rover 3.5l saloon in maroon - sold in order to assist in purchase of class 47 loco Rover 3.5l coupe in zircon blue / silver birch - sold in order to assist in purchase of class 47 loco Rover 800 Vitesse coupe in metallic blue. Great car and daily driver from 1999 to 2008. Got to very high mileage and started to cost so departed for the scrapyard that summer. Very rare now. A car i really would like is a Vauxhall Victor VX4/90 (FD) made from 1967 to 72 or a Ventora from the same period. Current daily driver is a 2005 ZT CDti - used for work and does 25k per year, its predecessor a 262,000 mile ZT CDti (same colour) i have just broken for spares and remains go to the scrapman this coming week, ZT 190 and ZT 260 - both weekend toys. A Rover man since my schooldays, l've had various P6's over the years since l was twenty & am currently having a project 2000TC rebuilt into another base unit. l also have a Huntsman 3500 (ex Denovo) which will be for sale at some point having already sold the other P6's in my fleet, four-pots & V8.
I still have my 1970 P5B Saloon which l bought in 1985 & also had a '62 Mk1a 3 litre Saloon for a few years. I recently sold my 1962 P4 110 which l ran as a daily car some years back but which was deteriorating through lack of use. A reluctant sale but l didn't want her dying on my watch & don't have as much storage as l did. I'm also having my A60 Morris Traveller recommisioned at the moment. My 75 is thoroughly modern to me & l'm expecting to have to sell her at some point when the ULEZ levels are tightened up as they undoubtedly will be.

My 75 is the only Rover I've ever owned (mainly because it's the only car I've ever owned) but I would love to have a P5B saloon, which I think looks a bit nicer than the coupe. I also like the R8 400. Before I was born my grandparents had an 800 Sterling which they say is the best car they've ever owned. Only reason they got rid of it was because it was too big for my granny to drive.
