Default The world's first gas turbine car (BBC Archive)

I know the car has been mentioned before but found this BBC archive footage quite interesting.

Remember seeing this in the Science Museum in the late 1960’s

Mum used to take my brother and I to all the London museums during the school holidays.

Like many of us, I'm sure, I'd seen the odd photo of this car.

I certainly didn't realise just how nice it looks, simply as a two seater.

If I was younger, I could be inspired to find an old P4, and make a nice summer fun car (original engine, box etc., of course)

Or has someone already done one?

Mike

Yes, there are a few re-creations. This is probably the best with a working turbine plus a Rover V8 for road use. Marvellous.

Jools Holland also had one made by Chop Shop, built on Jaguar underpinnings. It got some stick but l'd be happy to tool around town in it.
