Yes Firefrost is one of my favourite colours. It suits the car well and makes the chrome stand out nicely.

I agree the car deserves to be looked after properly as it's a lovely example and it certainly shall be during my (hopefully many years of) ownership.

Hi Alex.
Your nest step is check to see if the silver resistor is there, at 2 oclock which it should be, that will need to be change for a gold one such as this below.
1

Your car will not over heat so don't worry to much as the diesel engine runs cool anyways, unless you take it back to the car seller and see if they will do the job for you which i doubt, as they will think they need to replace the whole fan.

It's about 45 minutes job if you know what you are doing, it could be done at the Nano meet if you can make it.

Another test you can do is to check if your thermostat is working as it should by doing the OBD test 19 then to 7 go for a drive and you are looking for temp about 85 -87 or more.

If 80 or below then you will need the inline sat mod which will bring the engine up to temp and you will gain more MPG

Beautiful car and one of the best colours. Not that I’m biased. Here are my pair. Saloon is a 1.8 turbo manual and tourer is a diesel auto. 😊

Yes the silver resistor is there Arctic. I’ll most likely be coming to the Nano so that sounds like a good plan. I’ll put my name down on the website later. Where do I get a gold one from?

Very nice cars you’ve got there Ravinder. I remember reading your post on picking up the 05 reg. I wish mine was that shiny!

Hi Alex.
If you make the Nano i already have them made up, and ready to fit which we can do at the meet, we help lots of owners do jobs on their cars, you can also get a T4 health check.

I will be fitting one with an owner at the end of the month 29th if weather lets us, he to as only just bought his R40 tourer, i will be gong through other little jobs with him, such as the intercooler O-rings, inline stat, most likely a clean manifold EGR & MAP sensor, possible hand brake compensator, check all hose are secure and safe from chaffing etc.

As above use the great in depth how to by T-Cut (Cyrano) to do the live temp of you car set it to 19 then 7 after starting the car go for a 10 mile drive checking the temp as you go and then when you pull back up at home leave the engine running for at least 10 minutes and see what temp the car get to.

https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...ad.php?t=55585

On the live drive you are looking for at least 85-87 more the better, 92 would be great but i doubt anyone as got that reading all the time, 80c down to 70c and the stat is failing open as on the diesel they almost do, an inline stat can then be fitted. Arctic.

Sure is a lovely colour. The only one that I think is better in the Rover range is Nightfire Red. My 220sd was that colour , and used to find I got quite a few people were interested in the colour, especially when the sun was shining.
