You mean 30 separate countries who can DECIDE the quality of whatever they want to sing, who they want to sing to (and with) and what they want to sing about?

I read an old Guardian article from 2009 on how Terry Wogan told European Broadcaster that the Eurovision Song Contest was “rubbish” and that they must take action against countries voting politically.

It’s always been a joke and we should not withdraw from it - we should have a joke entry and at least have a laugh!!

Trying to make out it is a respected talent show is crazy.

Treat it as a comedy event with a comedic entry would be far better.

I think we need to face facts - the only way we would ever be able to stage the Eurovision Song Contest is if we offered to pick up the whole tab and pay the artists to come.

As for it being 2016 again - I think Hartlepool () in 2021 summed up most people’s thoughts.

I suggest Hartlepool would be a great venue!!!

Hartlepool Marina would be a wonderful venue, with HMS Trincomalee centre stage. Do it !!!
