Default What degreaser do you recommend

Ok feeling embarrassed looking at these clean engines, on my other cars I would just use a pressure washer with snow foam or any degreaser that was to hand and blasted it, so on the ZTT I think I would like to adopt a more "normal" shall we say method.

So paint brush and other brushes at the ready what degreaser would you recommend ?

Thanks

Robert

I've always used Jizer, it works very well. Think it's made by Swafega now.

I have to agree, it is great stuff.

I just use that, rinse it off, then spray it with Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care, whilst still wet.
When it dries it brings the engine bay up quite well, with minimal effort.

I have a bottle of this thats been on my shelf for a year unused. Each time i think about using it i worry about spraying water into the engine bay... electrics are my main concern!

Is this anything to worry about?

So all I have to do is get these two bottles and spray them on and I will get an engine bay like yours with only one treatment

Yes, pretty much so.
I was put onto this method by the member Trimani.
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...light=autoglym
My engine bay is not immaculate like others that I have seen , but it looks acceptable and there has not been lots of hard graft and lots of polishing.

On the first application I used a paint brush to agitate the cleaner in the more heavily soiled areas. It probably took around 20 to 30 mins.
You will probably miss a few bits, so a second clean (a few weeks later in my case), will bring it up even better.

It, obviously will not sort any corroded parts and one clean it will show them up more.
I changed my slam panel bolts over to stainless, but everything else is "as is".

I was sceptical about this method, but was amazed at the results for the effort put in.
Unlike the outside of the car, once an engine bay is clean it will remain so for weeks / months on end.

Give it a try!

It can be a bit harsh if not washed off properly, they do a less corrosive product by the name of Duck Oil. Takes a bit more work, but not as harmful. Or use Jizer, rinse thoroughly with water then a liberal amount of Duck Oil left on.

Yes, agree.
Thing is, I 'acquired' 100 litres of the stuff from where I used to work, it'll last a lifetime
