Navall 3 & Mic

As a few will know I have my Nav 3 here on the "bench" I have used audio recording with both the inbuilt mic and a high quality Olympus tie clip mic.
Both trials seemed to be good and frankly I could not tell any difference if there was any at all.
What are you folks using in your vehicles?
the built in or an external?
which do you find the best or are you like me and not noticed any difference?

The built in results in "buzzing" on the line at the other end I am told - I don't have an external one yet but will try to fit one when I can.
