Insurance renewal
Car: Rover 75 2002 ROVER 75 CLASSIC SE CDT (116) 1950CC 4DR AUTO
Got that e mail this morning; "Your Insurance is due for renewal" we can renew for a cost of £369.22 (one off payment) ?? This is a quote for myself and spouse with fully comprehensive and business cover. "You do not have top do anything, we will renew automatically" Anyway a quick flick onto a price comparison site and the same details entered returned a quote of £226.72 That is a huge saving, as I pay over the year, this means a reduction in monthly costs from a possible £37.36 to £19.94 The Insurance company quoting the cheaper; "The Co-Operative Insurance" and that is only doing a basic search whilst having morning coffee ..... Just shows what savings are out there

Same old thing, it pays to shop around!
My renewal came out to me, did a comparison internet search and got a quote by the same underwriters for almost £70 less. I contacted my current insurance provider who was unable to match it. No customer retention these days, so it would seem! So my premium is £218 this year which is OK I guess! |

you may find a better quote if you phone the insurance company direct, Web prices are not always the best.
the AA do a price match as well.

I usually get the cheapest from the comparison sites. It's a bit of a hassle getting the old company to send your no claims proof though.

Yes, but try telling them about the 160 upgrade, and see if it's still cheapest. The problem with web quotes is they generally offer a one size fits all policy, and any changes costs the earth. |

It has been like that for sometime. The statistics show that people who go for TPF&T have more claims than people who go fully comp and their premiums are loaded accordingly.

Try going on the Co op web site direct rather than the comparison site sometimes their quotes come out cheaper. I did and they quoted me £30 less than Compare the market site. Edit...Oops just noticed Ratty's post. Last edited by Groundhog; 27th December 2015 at 10:40.. |
