Diesel mpg 37 on motorway run
Long run this weekend from West Yorkshire to Lake District and back mainly motorways I got 37 mpg should I be disappointed?

I get about this in my manual on my 50 mile round trip commute. Mostly dual carriageway.

on motorways I was getting about 48MPG (TD auto), but maybe the cold weather is not helping ?

If you are reading form the IPK display, ignore it until you do a brim to brim calculation. They are notoriously inaccurate.
If you did this using brim to brim calculations, and you had some town driving also, it is an auto, then I would be expecting 37 - 45 depending on temps, driving conditions, journey etc. Check the coolant temp using the OBD display.

my manual varies between 32mpg to 48mpg depending on my right foot on a 90 mile run up the M6, thats the top end of the M6 so very little traffic

I can get 34 from my ZTt V6 on a motorway.....Ive always thought Diesels were a lot better than that

Hi Spencer. If I was only getting that on a journey of that sort, I would be looking for a diesel leak, cold /warm weather. Is it down on power generally? I would be looking for Maf faults, or perhaps you use the loud pedal all the time?
