Good winter tyres
These might be of interest to someone looking for winter tyres already fitted on Rover 75 wheels: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1720698954...84.m1555.l2649

The wheels look pretty good. Never got my head around winter tyres, if the road surface is slippery, take care, if it's thick with snow, don't go out I know the compound and tread pattern is such that they provide more grip in just cold conditions but are they worth the money? I don't think we get the extremes of weather for long enough periods to use them.

Where I live no snow plough ever goes. No public transport either. Last year I was driving through snow that was as high as my bumper in places. I couldn't have done that on summer tyres. Ali.

Winter tyres are developed for lower temperatures and wet conditions. The have a softer compound and a water dispersing thread pattern which gives better grip in poor conditions.Having fitted a set back in autumn I have found them a great addition and would recommend them.

I inherited winter tyres on the front of my car. Only problem is that as the winter has been mild up until recently, the tread has worn down rather quickly.
However, they did perform well in the snow we've had here recently. |

I fitted my winter wheels on a week or two ago which are fitted with Avon Ice Touring? and in cold weather they don't grip as well as my Dunlop Bluemotion summer tyres, but I haven't tried them on the white stuff or in below freezing conditions yet.
