If you have a sunroof fitted it could be the sunroof drains.

Where exactly is the water ending up in the car ? A bit more detail will be helpful

Most common places for water ingress are the boot (rear light seals , sometimes trim clips or rear windscreen seal), plenum drains or sunroof drains (if you have one).

Cheers

Hi Richard,I've had this happen to me,,my year 2000,2002 cars didn't have the issue, but my 2004 did, incidently my sons 54 plate v8 did as well.
Main areas ,where it leaked, were the side chrome trims fastened to the bodywork-cured by removing boot side carpets and putting a small blob of silicon sealant on the back of the trim clips. And then the rear light seals,by removing and replacing with new seals,or as I did siliconed them up where the seal was broken.
I then removed the spare wheel and rear seat squab, dried it out, hosed it from all angles, best to put someone in the boot with a torch to check if it still comes in.Then left things out for a few days to make sure it stayed dry.
Hope this helps,,the job wasn't too hard to do.
Ken.

Sunroof drains if you have them. They're the cause of my current damp issues.

Thanks for all the replies , it is making serious amounts of water , had to bail her out with a jug , I reckon about two inches under the drivers seat , when you put the brakes on it runs forward to the footwell . it got as bad as that over a 200 mile trip in bad weather but never leaked anywhere previously .

Water in 75s is a well trodden path:-

1. Sunroof drains are a gimme if they have not been modded if you have a sunroof)
2. Windscreen scuttle clip sockets
3. Blocked plenums
4. Missing door membrane
5. Possibly windscreen if it has been replaced.
6. Rear light seals
7. chrome trim clips
8. Boot vents
9. Panel line join from rear window to boot
10. Clutch master cylinder hydraulic line grommet (If manual and recently changed)
11. Steering column grommet
12. Door seals or door body seals if torn
13. Rear screen seal on early cars.

There maybe someone along in a bit that will add to this list

It really would be helpful to know if you have a sunroof as the drains often cause problems and should be regarded as a likely source of the problem. It's worth checking the spare wheel well as water from the boot can run forward under braking and end up in the

Thread moved to a more appropriate forum. Re-direct left in old. This may be the better forum as threads get ‘lost’ very quickly in the General Forum.
