Black liquid shoe polish is as good as anything for restoring a black finish, the stuff in a plastic bottle with a sponge applicator. Put it on, buff it up.

Back to black (the good stuff) will do it, but as Steve says shoe polish is as good.. infact I used shoe polish on my Cortinas black vinyl roof - came up a treat!

It works in one sense. The oil absorbs slightly into the rubber/plastic surface and temporarily looks good. One day in the sun or the rain and it evaporates or washes off and the effect is done with.

That's my experience with the idea anyway.
I expect someone will swear by it but I have tried twice with the same result. I try not to do disappointing things three times in a row
