Default SD USB AUX Input on a V8 260?

I have been working with a customer on the diagnostic stuff and he has asked me to look at CD Changer replacement.

His CD changer is dead. It has power because you can eject/insert the cartridge, but on the head unit it says "no disc" or something to that effect.

Being a V8 the CD changer is in the spare wheel well.

Also the car has satnav.

Can anyone tell me whether this thing

will work on his V8?

Also is it likely to kill the satnav?

Also the headunit has a cassette player if that matters....
