Default How to set 'Auto-Locking'...

Hi guys,

I've got a 2004 2.5-V6 Auto Contemporary-SE

What I'd like to know is: Does anyone know how to set the car to 'Auto-Lock' when driving off please?

I have 10yo-twin boys and would prefer that the doors locked automatically when we drive off, just for safety's sake...

The handbook tell's the reader to refer to a certain page, but when you turn to the page stated, there's nothing there!!!

Thanks in advance...

Seasons Greetings & Best Wishes to all!

Guy.

applying the child locks would be better than the autolocking, as two pulls of the door handle would still open the door

I agree with Rick-sta, using the child locks would be my preference (not that my 26 year old needs them any more). I've always had auto locking disabled on the cars I've owned as although I've never be involved in a serious accident, I don't want that to be the time to find out if the doors unlock like they're supposed to.

Ah auto locks! Got them on my car and the amount of times my old Dad has grabbed the handle to get in and keeps on pulling until I remember must be in the 100s lol!
Luckily I can disable it and do many other options via the indicator stalk.

Hey guys,

I totally understand the fore's and against on both sides gents - but for me, the security of knowing the doors are locked is well worth the hassle...'cos those 20-little fingers love messing with things they both know they shouldn't be messing with!!!

I have a modern Rangie that autolocks...its great - I also have a 1938 Rover-12 with suicide doors - that's the total opposite n my nerves are on-edge whenever the boys are in the back of that one!!!

Now...Who can I go to locally get it done - any idea's???

Guy.
