Default Eurovision blar contest

We are having a couple of friends round for drinks and having a laugh - it seems like a cross between the Hunger Games broadcasts and amateur night.

I do miss Terry Wogan....

Just watched the Lithuanian entry - which was “I miss you”. Sung in English.

I’m not saying another word.......

Thumbs up

Just caught the last four or so entries. Of those I've listened to Norway is the favorite for me so far, Netherlands possibly a chance too but politics might decide otherwise lol.

Oh Well, last with NIL POINTS !!! ..... what a surprise in this politically driven contest.

Its about time the BBC - with us paying the bill - stopped part funding this UK bashing fiasco !

your not far wrong there andy ! apart from the punish the brexit brigade the whole thing has turned into a dance showtime party. what ever happened to good old fashioned catchy songs ... its more about visual effects and troop dancing. these are the eye catching votes that pull in the younger audience of 14 and 15 year olds who all have mobiles and do the majority of votes. yes bring back terry and go back to the old music days ... but then again if you remember at the end even he had had enough of it.

All the happiness that used to be

Soon my eyes will close
Soon I'll find repose
And in dreams, you're always near to me

I'll see you in my dreams
And then I'll hold you in my dreams

When Terry Wogan used to present it it was a huge laugh. We used to get together with friends and have it on to hear Wogan rather than the acts.

I remember one year in between songs there was a very long explanation in a language we did not understand whilst the camera very slowly panned round an industrial Port Complex.

Then Wogan quietly asked “Is anybody still there?”

Last night we actually had a couple of people round and we had it on “for a laugh” - but it wasn’t even that
