Default Alpine ipod

I have an Alpine unit with full speed ipod connection. This morning the ipod wouldn't work and needed a system reset, turns out the ipod battery was flat. Usually the ipod is charged by external units but the handbook doesn't say if it should or not. Anybody got a similar connection? before i email Alpine. Thanks

My Alpine charged my Ipod - never had a battery problem.

Sometimes I believe the ipod doesn't realise you've switched the engine off and carries on playing, which will naturally deplete the battery after a while even if while the engine is one it's being charged.

Maybe just keep an eye on it for a while before going to Apple? If it's only an intermittent problem I wouldn't worry too much.
