highline satnav dead - how to fix?
Quick question guys, I have a highline sat nav that doesn't work at all. Now the satnav drives that were all in the spare wheel well are completely shot as they were completely flooded so these will need to be replaced. However, would this lead to the head unit not working at all?
Basically only the back light comes on and the screen lights up but it stays black and nothing works at all. Would replacing the drives in the boot fix this or could there be another issue as well? Cheers, |

Hiya
The screen is literally a monitor, all the intelligent stuff is in the boot, so yes, that is why your not getting anything up front. I would also be checking all the wiring aswell to see how badly they are corroded, because if you replace the kit in the boot and it still doesnt work then the loom may well be shot aswell. I believe they can become damaged due to water and moisture in the boot.

I have spare Satnav units including the DVD player that I'm happy to sell. Also, happy for you to come to Harpenden and we can swap out the items to see what you need.
