Done a few thermostat changes and after the first one (nightmare) have never disturbed the fuel system again except for disconnecting the inlet pipe up by the battery box, similar procedure to the one you are facing.
You are going to have to remove one half of the inlet manifold and presumably will replace one inlet gasket, I would suggest you remove the whole inlet manifold as one unit if you don’t want the risk of trouble with the fuel system. OK it’s an extra £5 gasket but I think it worth it. I also use a smear of blue hylomar esp. around the water channels, which also helps keep the gasket(s) in place. Lovel recommends checking / retightening the manifold bolts after a period of use. Regards |

Believe he moved to Florida. Doubt if he would have deleted his gallery, probably as his account expired the photos disappeared too. Made some valuable contributions - got zero back up from the seller of my old Win headunit (guess who) but thanks to one of Mr. Edd's posts got it all working. Regards |

I agree, It's much easier to remove both halves of the intake manifold together.
This saves messing with the fuel piping and injectors. It is worthwhile replacing the intake gaskets. I had one fail on my KV6 Freelander which resulted in my only tow in recent memory. The intake bolts are challenging to get at but a 1/4" socket set with a swivel socket and a magnetic pick up tool for the inevitable dropped bolt will get the job done. If you can't find any Rover/MG how-tos look for Freelander ones.

Had my family mechanic come today, to look at Bumble, the temperature sensor was on a separate loom with plug both ends, after removing and soldering new wires in the temp gauge now works and the misfire stopped!!
So after panicking it ended up being a very quick and easy fix ...happy days.
